ANNUAL FESTIVALS
Spring Equinox March 21 New Year Festival. Celebrates the astrological new year when Nature brings forth new expressions of life after months of winter dormancy. Ritual demonstrates the relationship between physical nurture and spiritual nurture and mankind's need for both. Also "Summer Finding" and first full moon after Equinox is Ostara (Easter)Beltane (May Eve) May Day Festival. May Day celebrates the fertility of life with dancing, music and spiced wine. Beltane signals the beginning of planting time. Summer Solstice. June 21 Midsummer Fcstival. Celebrates the fullness of Nature with the symbols of Light, Flowers, Water and Incense. Dark bread and honey mead are consumed as symbols of the richness of the Earth and the vitality of the Sun. Lughnassed Aug 1 Grain Festival Celebrates the ripening of the grain of the grain. Telltin Faere is held at which baked goods are displayed, wares are sold or exchanged and spirit communications are held. Grain symbolizes both physical and spiritual sustenance. Autumnal Equinox Sept 22 Harvest Festival: Celebration of Winter Finding, Octoberfest as thanksgiving for harvest and rewards of life. We acknowledge one another as a Divine Spark of the ALI. A bonfire and feast is held outdoors with music, beer, cider and good fellowship. Samhain Nov Eve Festival of our Ancestors Celebrates the connection between the physical world and the spirit world. The veil between the worlds is thinnest at this time and communication easiest. Red wine, apples, pumpkins, incense Winter Solstice Dec 22 Yule Festival: Celebrates the Yule Tide as the time the Sun reaches its lowest ebb and is renewed. The Yule Log is lighted and gifts exchanged as we observe the birth of higher consciousness within each of us. White wine, cakes, mints. On the twelfth night of the Yule Vigil (now Jan 2) we pledge upon the Yule wreath our Resolutions (oaths) for the year to come and send them into the Cosmos. lmbolc Feb Eve Hearth Festival This is the time of taking stock, healing and preparation. We celebrate the nurturing power of the home as the force that brings strength and unity to the family and the community.
