The Kingdom of God is within you    (Luke 17:21)

The Kentucky School of Metaphysics was founded in 1979 and incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1981 in Frankfort, Kentucky. The purpose of the School is to serve as a vehicle for the receipt and dissemination of wisdom for the benefit of those persons who desire to expand their consciousness for the NEW AGE. Any individual who seeks to attain an inner understanding of the nature of life through personal experience is welcome.

Physical science is based on phenomena observed and measured by our senses and evaluated by our analytical mode of the brain. Metaphysics is based on an inner knowledge received holistically by our intuitive mode of the brain. The student learns through direct personal experience rather than reading or hearing "about" the subject.

The Kentucky School of Metaphysics is one of the few organizations in central United States to offer regularly scheduled classes which teach the systematic expansion of consciousness. The School does not subscribe to any particular theory or technique, but does base its work on the Western Mystical Tradition which traces its origins to the early history of the European people.

The Western Mystical Tradition contains five elements:

  1. The One Life in all things; the involvement of the Creator in the creation

  2. Different planes of existence or states of energy/matter

  3. Progressive development through life’s experiences

  4. Opportunity for participation, correction and fulfillment

  5. A common goal of all life in the One Consciousness

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

We begin with the concept of physics that all matter consists of energy, vibrating at various rates or speeds; and as the rate of vibration slows, matter condenses or becomes solid. Metaphysics holds that there are rates of vibration beyond those we can perceive with our physical senses.

Right-Brain Functions

Sensory perception is accomplished through the analytical mode of the brain which operates primarily on the left side or hemisphere. As Man moved from instinctive consciousness to individual consciousness, he developed the ability to project an image of himself (Ego) into his activity and to imagine the consequences of actions. We collect data from our outer environment through the senses organize and store it in the subconscious and then project it into our activity by our Ego. This analytical system is kept in control through the speech center in the left hemisphere of the brain.

We have another mode of perception in which we receive information holistically - all at once instead of in bits and pieces. Sometimes this information is referred to as "intuition" or hunches. The holistic system does not analize; it just knows. It is a passive system that operates through the right hemisphere of the brain and receives data from the "cosmic environment"; but it cannot bring the information into conscious awareness unless the Ego permits it. Science tells us that the intuitive mode functions on brain-wave patterns that are much slower than those on which the analytical mode functions.

Our society spends much effort and resources on development of left-brain functions, but tends to discourage the use of right-brain functions. Public education rewards analytical learning such as reading and speaking but penalizes right-brain daydreaming and answers like "I don’t know". Yet, we know that creativity, new concepts and inventions come through intuitive perception. The program of the Kentucky School of Metaphysics is designed to teach the student to use the right-brain mode along with the left-brain mode.

Meditation

Meditation is the first step in learning to use the right-brain functions. So many books begin with "clear your mind", but never explain how to do it. The School teaches the three basic techniques used world-wide and several special kinds of meditation. The results are clearly observable; first, there is less stress; next, there is a kind of re-ordering of priorities; and finally, there is a new creativity experienced.

Metaphysics

Metaphysics is the study of universal order and we learn that ours is an ordered universe which functions at every level according to the principles of the Divine Creative Process. The course Cosmic Law presents these principles according to the Western Tradition.  First we examine involution or creation and then we examine evolution (the expansion of consciousness from potential to actual)..

In Introduction to Metaphysics the student approaches the reality of psychic phenomena from a scientific viewpoint and discovers major gaps in the model of reality as it relates to Psi, astral travel, psychic healing and other life and after- death experiences.  Various theories are examined to fill the gaps and the student presents his/her own theory..

                                  Mental Programming

Psychologists tell us that early in life we establish a fixed response to certain stimuli in our environment (both social and physical). Many stimuli are merely blocked out because we do not choose to respond to them. By the time we reach adulthood, we have programmed our brain to respond in a certain way to most of the situations in life. When we realize that many of the programmed responses restrict our growth, we are unable to change.

We find that no matter how much we decide on the conscious level that we want to change, we continue to follow the program established on the unconscious level. These responses may include smoking, overeating, anger, frustration and other undesirable actions or responses. We must reach the programming level, or subconscious, of our brain directly to remove the old program in order to replace it with a new one through the creative level.

Creative Mind Power is a course designed specifically to teach mental programming through contact with the Creative Self. The student is taught techniques for de-automatization, relaxation, affirmation and contacting the Creative Self to re-program the "subconscious." The student learns to use the Creative Self in his everyday life to be more effective and to feel a greater sense of fulfillment.

                         Counseling & Hypnotherapy

The course in Pastoral Counseling introduces the student to the purpose and role of the Minister in Pastoral Counseling.  The student learns to enter his/her "skyscraper of consciousness" and "spiritual workshop" in order to bring the God-self into action.  Specific problems are dealt with: such as: Family relationships; marital counseling; personal development; senior citizens; death and grief; and illness and addiction.

Use of Hypnotherapy teaches the student to understand the basics of hypnotherapy and its use in counseling work.  It is a preliminary course that provides instruction in induction and emergence, and the use of hypnotic suggestion for self improvement.  Past Lives & Reincarnation can be experienced through hypnosis to help us deal with problems from previous lives.

                        Human Energy and Health

All life has a field of energy and the human energy field includes the physical body and extends beyond it. The Astrological Natal Chart is a blueprint of these energy interactions which are carried out through the lines of energy (meridians) and the centers (chakras). In The Human Energy Field the student learns the cyclical flow and interactions of these energies through the individual energy field.

In The Basis of Health we learns there is more than the physical energy field. Each individual has three basic energies: Physical, Spiritual and Mental, corresponding to substance, life force and consciousness. The student learns how imbalance of these energies leads to disease and how harmony can be restored for good health and happiness.
